Who wants to make their month more exciting? Planning monthly goals especially for February helps you to stay on track of your New Years resolutions. You have something to look forward to and you can get clearer on what you want by breaking down your goals month-by-month. I’ll be sharing with you my February goals for 2023 plus some easy tips to motivate you!
How to Plan Monthly Goals?
A simple tip I follow to plan my monthly goal is to look back on the previous month and reflect on what lessons you can learn. Think about what goals worked and what goals you had trouble accomplishing. If you had challenges following through with certain goals, try reframing your steps, routines, and habits to make your goal more doable. Planning your goals for the month ahead doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, below I’ll share with you some of my goals for this month to give you inspo!
My February Goals
Attend Pilates + Yoga Weekly
So far I’ve started off the year attending my classes 3x a week and have found such a difference with my sleep and energy + concentration levels. I love doing low-impact exercises because the movement is more bearable for my body plus it soothes both my body and mind. A personal take is also because I feel very uncomfortable whenever I get super sweaty during a high-intensity workout which demotivates me to finish the workout. However, the pace of a low-impact workout allows me to enjoy the process a lot more.
Create a Monthly Vision Board
I use Canva to create a lock screen wallpaper by pulling images from my Pinterest account. Aesthetic images can make for a pretty lock Screen photo. Take the time to break down your goals by the month instead of the year to feel in control of what you can accomplish. The key is to set action-oriented steps to make it all happen.
Create a Night Routine + have Self-Care Evenings
My mornings are started off strong but I hope to do the same with my nights. Self-care evenings are perfect habits to help me unwind, feel more rested, and lower my anxiety with any racing thoughts. Romanticize your days and don’t wait until you feel burnt out to practice self-care.
Practice Gratitude Daily
The present moment helps me to feel so grateful for my life because I’m not allowing my anxiety to distract my mind. Some things you can note for your gratitude list include:
- your health
- things around your room (e.g. your bed, desk, clean clothes)
- personality traits you’re proud of
- simple tasks you’ve accomplished for the day (e.g. getting out of bed, brushing your teeth)
Another reason why I want to practice gratitude daily is because so many times we work extremely hard to achieving a long-term goal. However, once that goal that appeared unattainable becomes attainable, we achieve short-term happiness because we no longer have a sense of purpose. If we practice gratitude for present moment, I think this will help to avoid this and lower the need to constantly chase after the next thing.
Listen to More Podcasts
This past week I’ve been listening to podcasts in the morning time as I enjoy my breakfast. I’m hoping to keep this up as I usually feel inspired for the rest of my day. Video podcasts on YouTube always feel much more engaging because I feel emotionally connected to take action on the podcaster’s tips. So instead of watching your favourite YouTuber or TV show, try switching on a video podcast to stay busy.
Plan my Recipes for the Day
Meal prepping is definitely a game changer. My goal is to try new recipes weekly and more energizing meals that helps me to feel fuller and regulate my mood.
Stop Overthinking and Go with the Flow
This one is self-explanatory but so many times I’ll overthink a task only to find how easy it was afterwards. I saw a TikTok video that completely changed my perspective on stress. Whenever you feel stressed about doing something, don’t associate that with you as a person feeling stressed. Instead, isolate that task as a stressful situation and keep your own emotions seperate. This helps to keep your emotions in control and your mind feel lighter.
Quick Tips to Motivate You:
- Set realistic, yet challenging goals for yourself.
- Break down your goals into smaller, achievable tasks.
- Track your progress and celebrate your successes along the way.
- Ask for help when you need it.
- Be flexible and donβt be afraid to adjust your goals if needed.
- Stay motivated by writing down your goals and displaying them somewhere you can see them often.
- Take time to rest and reflect on your progress.
